ISPWizard CD Signup
Information
There are 2 main ways of handling CD and
disk based signups with ISPWizard:
Both methods result in pretty much the same
experience for the end user with the main exception being that Windows
XP SP2 has introduced a warning message before allowing the user to download
the signup data file when using the IEAK compatible method. Unfortunately,
there doesn't appear to be any workaround for this other than to use the
other method of handling online signups.
The basic process that the user must go
through to signup for a new account with a disc created using ISPWizard
is as follows:
-
Insert signup CD.
-
At the menu that comes up, select to signup
for a new account (or setup their existing account if they already have
one.)
-
The software will then automatically check
the users system and install necessary networking components, etc.
-
Once the initial checks and configuration
is complete, the software then connects to your service using your supplied
phone number and username/password.
-
The default browser is launched at your specified
URL.
-
The user then proceeds to enter their information
- i.e. name, address, billing details, etc.
-
After processing the entered information,
the signup server creates the new account and sends back a file containing
the details for the new user account - i.e. new username/password, phone
number to use, etc.
-
The web browser automatically downloads the
file and sends it to the ISPWizard software running in the background.
-
The ISPWizard software completes the signup
process by disconnecting the modem, closing the browser and then creating
a dialup connection and configuring email accounts, etc.
